QURT Quantum Technologies Team, Composed of Students from Our Faculty’s Department of Photonics, Reaches the TEKNOFEST Finals

he QURT Quantum Technologies Team, composed of students from the Department of Photonics of our Faculty, successfully qualified for the finals in the Hardware Category of the TEKNOFEST Quantum Technologies Competition, held at the TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus, National Metrology Institute, on August 26–28, 2026.

Under the supervision of our Department of Photonics faculty member, Assistant Professor Muhammed Zeki Güngördü, the QURT Quantum Technologies Team consists of team captain Nezih Karademir and our students Mehmet Furkan Duygu, Mustafa Yahya Likos, and Burak Çelebi.

Our team received a score of 84.50 in the Preliminary Stage Report evaluation and 87.15 in the examination, ranking among the top eight out of 45 participating teams and earning a place in the finals.

During the final stage, our students carried out calibration and performance tests on a superconducting quantum chip and successfully completed both their presentation to the jury and their final report.

We congratulate our students, who successfully represented our Faculty, as well as their team advisor, Assistant Professor Muhammed Zeki Güngördü, and wish them continued success.
